Riverbend City Council unanimously adopted the Open Space Master Plan 2025–2035, a ten-year blueprint for expanding parks, completing the Riverwalk trail network, and protecting natural areas within city limits.

Top Priorities

The plan calls for two new neighborhood parks in underserved areas, a 4.2-mile trail connection linking Riverside Park to Eastside Community Center, and natural area protections along Riverbend Creek.

Funding Path

Implementation depends on a combination of the parks levy approved by voters in 2023, state trail grants, and developer park fees. The first projects are expected to break ground in spring 2026.
